Canoe & kayak

The headwaters of the Missisquoi Nord are Lac d’Argent at Eastman. The river then flows south through a valley, flanked by mountains, to Highwater, where it joins the Missisquoi River. The Municipalities of Eastman, Saint-Etienne-de-Bolton, Bolton-Est and Canton de Potton with the support of the Memphremagog MRC and in collaboration with local partners have established numerous boat access sites along the river banks. Hiking Trails

Snow shoeing trails track through the valley and surrounding mountainsides. Each municipality has created a trail that links it to already existing partner organizations which each have individual regulations to be respected. Access to the trails of the Missisquoi Nord network and the Ruiter Valley Land Trust is free of charge. Should you wander off on the trails of the Sentiers de l'Estrie or those of the Réserve naturelle des Montagnes-Vertes, fees will apply. Read more here

 

 

 

Cycling Trip From Eastman to Potton, along the Missisquoi Nord.

The region boasts bike trails and many of scenic circuits through marvelous picturesque villages. There are miles of cycling paths and road circuits. Whether you are an adept cycling enthusiast or a more contemplative one, the region will be sure to satisfy the cyclist in you. Mississquoi Nord Trails

The Missisquoi Nord Valley offers idyllic opportunity to those who will adventure off the beaten track. Kayak or paddle the river, explore a network of all-season hiking trails or pedal your way along country roads. The access to the river and bike pathways and to the hiking trails linking the main villages of the valley to already existing networks belonging to partner associations are free of charge except for the Sentiers de l’Estrie and the Réserve naturelle des Montagnes-Vertes networks, where fees apply.

 

 

 

 

 

Les Sentiers de L'Estrie

The trail covers a vast section of the Eastern Townships, from the U.S. border near Sutton to East Angus in the St. Francis River Valley. The trail crosses the main summits in the region: mounts Sutton, Écho, Glen, Foster, Orford, and Chapman. Green Mountains Nature Reserve 

The Green Mountains Nature Reserve is the largest protected area on private land in Quebec! Owned by Nature Conservancy Canada and developed by Appalachian Corridor, the Green Mountains Nature Reserve protects more than 68 km2 of the region’s natural heritage and includes two thirds of the Sutton Mountain Range. It is home to hundreds of animal and plant species, of which at least 90% are endangered or vulnerable, and more than 80 species of birds nest there every spring. You are invited to take the trails that crisscross this rich and diversified environment whose summit (810 m) reveals a breathtaking panorama.

Au Diable Vert - Vélo Volant & Others

Au Diable Vert is an award winning and totally unique 4 season outdoor centre located in Glen Sutton. Your choice of activities varies by season and always includes the unbelievable views, varied network of trails over our 320 acres and challenging ascents of local summits. Their new river access for kayaking, tubing, swimming and fishing adds a new dimension to Au Diable Vert. Unique in Canada, VéloVolant allows you to soar through the treetops on a suspended recumbent bicycle which travels only as fast as your pedal strokes. VéloVolant is the highest of its kind, supported by towering maples and pines connected by high performance cable. In winter, it is possible to snowshoe, back country/telemark, cross-country ski, slide and skate.

 

 

Au Diable Vert - Day & night kayaking

L'auberge propose différentes activités sortie estivale en kayak, et c'est dans l'ambiance magique des soirs de pleine lune qu'elle se prolonge. Ce paisible trajet d'environ 15 km, effectué sur la rivière Missisquoi entre les villages de Highwater et de Glen Sutton, dure environ quatre heures. Canoë & Co. 

Daily non-guided canoe-kayak excursion and rentals to explore the beautiful Missisquoi river between Mansonville and Glen Sutton. A calm river that begginers and experienced paddlers will surely have fun. It's great way to relax and unwind in nature with family and friends. Enjoy 10 or 15 km downriver paddling through this ancient Abenaki waterway. Plenty of beautiful places for swimming, fishing, and picnic. Dogs are welcome.

We have 3 -5 times of shuttle departure everyday for 10 or 15 km canoe and kayak excursion from May to October.

Bolton Falls Spa

Chapelle Ste-Agnes

Located in the Sutton Mountains of southern Quebec, the Chapelle Ste Agnès vineyard was established in 1997 by Henrietta Antony, a Montreal antique dealer. The vineyard is named after a stone chapel built several years earlier on the same site and consecrated to Saint Agnes, a thirteenth century Bohemian saint. The vineyard has over 7000 vines and is focused on the production of icewine and other dessert wines.

 

 

 

 

Mont Sutton 

With or without a guide, the vast skiable domain is yours to explore, a white playground where every run is different from the last. In this major Quebec ski hill, over two hundred junctions link the different trails, giving skiers of all levels the opportunity to vary each and every descent.

Parc d'environnement naturel de Sutton

Thanks to the different routes suggested by Parc d'environnement naturel de Sutton (PENS), the imaginative hiker can create endless different circuits each one different to the next. In addition to a nature discovery trail, PENS has introduced a team of hiking guides who will introduce you to the "Massif des monts Sutton" as you have never seen it before. With more than 80 km* (50 mi.) of marked trails, there are loops ranging from beginner to expert.

 

 

 

 

Abbaye de Saint-Benoît-du-Lac

Starting in 1912, Benedictine monks from France built a monastery overlooking Lake Memphremagog. The modern Saint-Benoît-du-Lac Abbey, designed by Dom Bellot, pays tribute to the harmony of natural geometric forms and makes splendid use of multicoloured bricks. Services in Gregorian chant. Haut Bois Normand Tube Sliding

Young or old, enjoy our breathtaking mountain tube sliding tracks, the longest of the Eastern Townships! Located in Eastman in the Eastern Townships, our four outdoor center 1,500 feet-long tracks will give you great thrills. Defy the cold winter in our fast and heated special ski lift! And after a good slide, do you know a better way to warm up than around an indoor cozy fire?

Haut Bois Normand Treetop Adventure

Nearly two kilometres (about 1.25 mi.) of cables and 75 obstacles are divided into six courses... all in a beautiful maple forest stretching over four hectares (10 acres) of land. An exciting skywalk adventure way up in the treetops: ropes, ziplines, walkways and other fun games. Via ferrata course on the mountainside. MONT ORFORD

Located only 1 hour from Montreal and just 20 minutes from Sherbrooke, Mont Orford is the highest skiable mountain in the Eastern Townships. Mont Orford’s height gives it the greatest vertical pitch in the area. Experienced skiers will find the trills and challenges they long for, and beginners will also be very pleased with our 20 easy trails. To reach the 3 summits of our skiable area, skiers and snowboarders can use one of 5 lifts, including the hybrid gondola that keeps everyone warm on cold winter days. The young ones will also have access to 4 magic carpets to make their first experience a fun and easy one. Mont Orford is just a few steps from highway 10. PARC NATIONAL DU MONT-ORFORD

Hiking is definitely the best way to discover Parc national du Mont-Orford. It's the perfect way to get access to numerous viewpoints, which are said to be among the most spectacular of the Eastern Townships region. In the fall, the forest presents a show featuring the flamboyant colours of the sugar maples. The park is notably home to white-tailed deer and Great Blue Heron, which you can observe in their natural habitat. There is also a large variety of amphibian and reptile species. Beside two beaches, vacationers have a wide range of fun-filled activities to choose from. Come fall, colourful sugar maples treat hikers to a blazing show. Come winter, the park is a destination of choice for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing fans. (At 13km from the highway 10 intersection on your way).
